Driver Main

The Driver Main frame allows for the maintenance of vehicle driver details. Drivers can be Employees or external drivers and could drive vehicles belonging to the organization (existing in M5) or outside vehicles (unknown to M5). This frame allows you to keep a detailed record for any driver that may drive any vehicle while performing a task for your fleet organization.

 

Create

 

To create a new drive record, enter a new Driver ID. This field has a limit of 128 characters. Press tab or enter. You will receive a popup asking you to confirm you want to create a new driver. Click Create to confirm the action.

 

Enter a description/name in the Name field. This field has a limit of 30 characters. The Status field will display in a read-only format and updates with the Driver Status code entered on the record.

 

General

 

The General tab allows you to enter general information for the driver record. You can associate the driver record with an Employee ID from Employee Main and/or a valid department from Department Main. You can also enter Driver Status information as well as Address and Personal Information.

The fields in the Address Information section are free form fields used to identify the driver's address, phone number, and E-Mail. These fields are optional.

 

Personal Information:

 

The Personal Information section contains details like the driver's birth information, reference and PIN numbers, and contact information. These fields are optional.

 

Next of Kin:

 

The Next of Kin section contains fields to enter in the driver's next of kin and their contact details. These fields are optional.

 

Licence

 

The Licence tab allows you to enter Driver License Items for each driver record. You must setup Driver Licence Issuing Authorities, Driver Licence Types, and Driver Licence Classes before entering them on this tab.

To add a Driver Licence Class to a Driver Licence Item, click on the item. This will load the fields in the Licence Classes section. You must first associate Licence Classes with the Issuing Authority/Type combination before you can enter them in this section.

 

 

Motor Pool Class

 

The Motor Pool Class tab allows you to restrict Motor Pool Access for the driver. Check the Restrict MP Reservations flag if you want to limit the driver's reservation capabilities.

 

In the Authorized Motor Pool Classes section, enter any Motor Pool Rental Classes that the driver will be authorized to reserve.

 

Modify

 

To modify a driver record, enter the Driver ID number or double click in the field to select one from the list of values (LOV). Press tab or enter to load the data on the frame. Make the necessary modifications and click the Save button when finished to update the record.

 

Disable

 

You cannot disable a driver, however you can give the driver a Driver status that will make the record inactive. See the Driver Status Codes frame for more information.

 

Delete

 

You can delete a driver's record provided it is not in use on any other tables in the system. If the record is in use, you cannot delete it from the system.

 

To delete a driver record that is not in use, enter the Driver ID number or select one from the list of values (LOV). Click the Delete button (Red X). You will receive a popup asking if you are sure you want to delete the driver. Click Delete to confirm the action.
