Driver Licence Issuing Authorities

The Issuing Authority defines the Authority or Regulatory Body that issued the licence. The Driver Licence Issuing Authority is the key that ties the Driver Licence Type and Driver Licence Class frame together.

 

Create

 

To create a Driver Licence Issuing Authority, click in the blank code field and enter a new code. This field has a limit of six characters. Enter a description for the code. This field has a limit of 50 characters.

 

For example: LOC - Local Authority or NATL - National Authority

 

When finished entering the issuing authority and description, click the Save icon at the top of the frame. The new code will now be available for use with Licence Types and Licence Classes.

 

Modify

 

You can only modify the descriptions of existing codes. To modify a description for an existing code, click in the Description field and type a new description over the old one. Click Save to update the record.

 

Disable

 

To disable an issuing authority, check the Disabled flag in the row of the code you want to disable. Click the Save icon.

 

Delete

 

You can delete an issuing authority provided the code is not in use by any other tables in the system. If the code is in use, you will not be able to delete it from the list.

 

To delete a code that is not in use, click in the row of the issuing authority you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X). The selected row will turn red. Click Save to delete the record from the system.
