Drive Licence Types are user-defined codes that identify the different kinds of licences drivers may have, such as a Standard Driver, Forklift Licence, or a Heavy-Duty Vehicle Licence.
Since licences are issued by an Issuing Authority, you can assign licence types to each authority code set up on the Driver Licence Issuing Authorities frame.
Create
To create a new Driver Licence Type, enter an issuing authority code in the Issuing Authority field or double click in the field to select one from the list of values (LOV). Press tab or enter. The Description field will populate automatically.
In the Driver Licence Types section, click in the blank Code field and enter a new Licence Type. This field has a limit of ten characters. Enter a description for the new code. This field has a limit of 50 characters.
Modify
You can only modify the descriptions of existing Driver Licence Types. To modify a description for an existing type, click in the Description field and type a new description over the old one. Click Save to update the record.
Disable
To disable a Driver Licence Type, check the Disable flag in the row of the type you want to disable. Click the Save button.
Delete
You can delete a Drive Licence Type from an Issuing Authority provided it is not in use on any other tables in the system. If the code is in use on another table, you will not be able to delete it from the list.
To delete a Driver Licence Type that is not in use, click in the row of the type you want to delete to make it active. Click the Delete button (Red X). The selected row will turn red. Click the Save button to delete the record from the system.
