The Bar Code Writer frame provides you with options for printing a variety of bar codes. The Selection Options section has five different entities you can print bar codes for: Employee ID, Part Number, Indirect Code, Downtime Status, and Bin.
You must have a bar code printer installed and available on your PC in order to print bar code labels. It is also necessary to make sure you have the proper labels loaded into the printer for this function.
You can use the Selection Options to specify what type of labels you want to print. Each field has a list of values you (LOV) can access by double clicking in that field.
Once you enter a value or make a selection for a specific field, the Code to Print, Description to Print, Type, and Copies fields will automatically populate with the data from your selection. You can edit the number of copies if necessary.
You can also make a manual entry on the Ready for Printing i-frame. The type for a manual entry is ‘User’. For manual entries you can enter the Code to Print (limit of 32 characters) and a Description (limit of 60 characters).
After you are finished entering the codes to print, you must select a label size that matches the size in your bar code printer from the ‘Form’ drop down menu and a valid printer from the ‘Printer’ section. See the Printer Definition and Printer Assignment frames for more information on Printer Setup.
